Custom promotional items – from concept to delivery
We received a desperate phone call from our customer’s Purchasing Manager who was tasked with executing their Marketing Department's elaborate idea. They wanted a special button to launch a new product at an upcoming trade show. He described the custom shape and that it needed to have sequential blinking lights that went from left to right.
Using his “loose” specifications, we were able to manufacture and deliver a working prototype within a few days. The Marketing Department was thrilled with the product and the Purchasing Manager received credit for a tough job done well.

Have no idea where to start with a deadline looming?
A customer needed some promotional items for a trade show that started in less than three weeks. She did not know her budget, necessary quantity, or even have an idea for the giveaway.
PakCom worked with her to understand the goal of attending the tradeshow which was two-fold: generate a general “buzz” about the product, and more importantly, generate “pre-qualified leads” for future follow-up. Based on the estimated number of attendees, we suggested several options that would accomplish these goals. We settled on a two tiered approach: use a compelling low price point giveaway to drive booth traffic and then provide the people who provide contact information and some basic information about their interest in the product a “choice” between several high perceived-value products.
PakCom provided numerous product options meet the objectives, including the short lead time. The tradeshow was a success, with the customer generating numerous pre-qualified leads with a reasonable acquisition cost.

I like this one, but how well will it work for us?
Several years ago, a customer was enamored with the look and feel of a marketing kit that was self-contained in a "turned edge" construction carry pack. They wanted to adapt a similar item for their corporate marketing program, but she didn’t know where to find such an item or how well it would work with their program.
After a short call with the client, we were able to understand what she wanted and provide her with some samples of similar projects. Using the samples as a baseline, we made several modifications and produced a specification sample of the marketing kit for her to “test out” in real world applications. The kit worked great, but as expected, the carry pack lacked the necessary durability due to the weight of the marketing material it carried. We suggested changing the carry pack design to a heavy gauge poly so that it would be more durable. The revised design still works very well today.

How can overseas manufacturing impact your budget?
Our customer provides training materials for a large corporation. One project required the use of 10 clear plastic sheet protectors bound into 1 set and 3 hole drilled to fit into a 3 ring binder. A comparable off the shelf product retails for over $4 per piece at a big box office supply store, and wholesale prices at this quantity (almost 30,000 sets) were still over $2 per set.
We used our overseas production capability to manufacture a product to meet the required specification, saving our client over $2 per piece.
